Nestled on the South Devon coast, Bantham Beach is one of those rare places that feels both wild and welcoming. With sweeping views of Bigbury Bay and Burgh Island, golden sands, and the kind of gentle surf that draws families and paddle boarders alike, it’s no wonder Bantham has a special place in the hearts of so many.
At Fryth, we’re lucky to call Devon home. When it came to planning our latest shoot, Bantham was the obvious choice. It’s a spot that reflects so much of what we value—natural beauty, a sense of calm, and the freedom to slow down.
We arrived as the sun dipped low, casting soft golden light across the sand dunes. The children ran ahead, collecting shells and dipping their toes in the sea, while we captured the quiet moments in between—windswept textures, footprints in the sand, and a few of our favourite Fryth pieces (including the new wavy board, which we’ll tell you more about next week).
Bantham has long been known for its unspoilt charm. It’s part of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and carefully protected by the Bantham Estate, helping it remain one of the most pristine beaches in the region. With the Avon Estuary to one side and dramatic rolling hills behind, the setting is postcard-perfect in every direction.
There’s a magic to Bantham—something in the salt air, the openness, the way the tide stretches out across the flats—that makes it more than just a beach. It’s a place to breathe, reset, and, if you’re lucky, spot a few dolphins just offshore.
We left sandy, salty, and with a camera full of beautiful moments. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped off the clock for a while. If you’re ever in the area, we can’t recommend it enough.
